Great Work, Best Pants I Own!,
December 15, 2012
These pants are the closest thing to perfection when it comes to clothing, or in this case, pants! The material is comfortable w/o being too baggy, and it feels abrasion resistant. Compared to my dockers, these pants are tough! The double stitching is a nice touch along with the gusseted crotch! I have noticed that not all pants have an oversized comfortable gusset like these pants do! Thanks Vertx for the keen functionality, and don't fix something that's not broken, please!

Best police plain clothes pant on the market,
December 06, 2011
I purchased a pair of Vertx pants after they were recommended to me by one of our SWAT team members. I'm in charge of a unit that targets violent criminals and need pants that will carry spare magazines and other items with out looking like BDU pants. I have all the other major brands, and the Vertx brand are the best. They look less like tactical pants and are much more comfortable. I put in a lot of 14 to 18 hour days doing surviellence. The Vertx pants are comfortable and still hold up and look good.

Near perfect....but not quite.,
October 16, 2011
Currently own 3 black pairs and 1 OD green pair.
I really appreciate the understated look/design of these trousers and the pockets are some of the best layed out for me, I'm left handed, so the zip pocket doesn't interfere with anything I clip on my string side. I wouldn't want this to change...but appreciate that it's probably the wrong side for right handed people.
The major bad point for me, is the amount of lint and dog hair the black trousers attract...it's bordering on ridiculous. The oldest pair I have, have stopped attracting it so bad, but they are so worn/faded they are not suitable for smart situations anymore.
Fix this and I'd buy no other brand of trousers.

A Fine Progression,
September 30, 2011
I've been a dedicated user of RR 5.11s for over 25 years. The 5.11s are great trousers, but having recently purchased a pair of Vertx 'pants'(OCS habits, even from the 1970s, die hard), I have a new favorite. The material is distinctly canvas-like, but a bit smoother- without being silky at all. The fit is great for me- roomy and non-binding anywhere, without being baggy. As an older guy, claiming to still be fit (but admittedly heavier), the sizing runs true.
I particularly like the cut of all the pockets. The hand pockets don't bind your wrist, the rear pockets are not too deep and the thigh pockets don't bellow.
All-in-all, an excellent product so far...

Great Pants - Few Improvements Needed,
September 22, 2011
I've got 3 pairs of these and just ordered a couple pair of the lightweight. They work well from business casual to field use. Anytime I think of buying a different pair of cargo pants, I compare to these and the Vertx always wins out.
That said, I seem to stain these quicker than other pants I own, I'm not sure why?
The other problem that really should be fixed is the cut of the front pockets for clipping on a knife. The flat area for clipping on a knife is not deep enough for even a sub-3" folder. Additionally, loose items tend to fall out when sitting. I learned this the hard way by losing a very expensive pocket knife. I've talked to others with similar problems. I will be interested to see if Vertx listened with the new lightweight design.

Great Pants,
September 11, 2011
I have been wearing the Vertx pants for a few months now, and have to say that I am surprised at how well these pants have held up, and how well the features work.
The comfort on these pants is far above all the other "tactical" brands that I have tried (and I have tried most all of them).
The pockets work thigh pockets work perfectly, and have no noisy Velcro on them..The AR-15 holder in the thigh pocket holds the magazines exactly where they are supposed to..I wore these pants in an NRA Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle Instructor class, and had better luck with these than a couple of the other brands that I took.
Again, I have to say the comfort is way above what I expected, they fit perfectly, and look nice enough to wear out on the town...as they do not scream "TACTICAL" like some of the others do.
I am starting to replace all my work pants with Vertec!

Great Pants!!!,
August 15, 2011
Great pants, extremely comfortable and very durable. I tried a lot of tactical pants, looking for perfect pair and these are it. I need something to hold up in a non-permissive environment and still look professional, Vertx is that and then some.

Vertx pants a step above the rest,
July 14, 2011
Im currently in Afghanistan and wear my few pairs of Vertx pants everyday. Besides the obvious reasons, low profile pockets, inside phone pocket, perfect fit to size, stretch waist, comfort. These pants seperate me from everyother POS out there in 511 gear. What used to just be operators, now every contractor here wears 511. Vertx provides me the ability to seperate my self from the rest. I get asked constantly what brand they are and only share w/ individuals who should wear them.

Buy. And Large.,
May 03, 2011
That's right, buy big. I'm of slight build. In the store, a 29" waist and 32" length fit perfectly. However, after a few washes, things didn't fit right. Gave them to my brother. I bought a 30x32. Better fit, but shrank in length. Finally, I decided on a 31x36 and had two inches hemmed. Glorious. Bought three pairs. Wish list on a redesign: deeper front pockets, additional concealed zippered left front pocket. More wrinkle resistant. That said... 5.11, Blackhawk, etc., don't hold a candle. AND I don't look strange(er).

so far so good,
March 29, 2011
I got a pair in black about a month or two ago, and am pretty satisfied so far.
I'm a floorman (bouncer) at a multilevel nightclub. I need to need to carry flashlights, radio, marker, very small med kit--in addition to personal items--all without looking too tactical, and with a full, unhindered range of motion. This is the primary reason for the purchase. I'm satisfied in this regard.
The black does attract and show dirt and lint--keep a lint roller handy if you need to wear them into the office. And the summer heat hasn't hit yet, so we'll see how they do then.
bottom line: they are sharp looking, comfortable, and if they are still going strong in a couple months, I will get another pair.

Best pants ever,
February 25, 2011
Best fitting pants I've had. Stretch fabric allows close fit and ease of movement. Pockets are arranged perfectly. Best of all, they don't look "tactical" to the casual observer.
There is still some room for improvement, however. The fabric tends to snag. I now have a few pairs I cannot wear to work because they have small holes in the fabric and the hemmed cuffs are fraying. Maybe I like these pants so much I wear them more than anything else. Maybe it's normal wear-and-tear. I still think they are the best pants I've had.

BUY THEM!,
February 14, 2011
The reviewer who said these are better than 5.11s is dead-on. Lightweight but warm, comfortable and durable material. Well-placed pockets that don't go overboard. These are low-key, tasteful and FUNCTIONAL utility pants. I'm 6'4, 250, ordered them in my regular jean size (38x34) and found them just right -- closer cut than BDUs but not huggy-snug.
